Paul Simon is one of those staples of what we know as modern music. He's been around forever. He first gained international fame and success in 1964 as one half of Simon & Garfunkel, a musical duo with Art Garfunkel.
He was the principal songwriter of the pair and three of his songs - 'The Sound of Silence', 'Mrs. Robinson' and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' - reached number one in the American singles charts. In 1970 the duo split up in the height of their fame and went on to forge solo careers.

Simon's been around for 50 years but hasn't overdone it by releasing lacklustre album after album. This year he released 'So Beautiful Or So What', his twelfth studio album to pretty fantastic reviews.
I didn't even realise he'd released another album, but if critics are saying this is his best album in over 20 years, I simply have to put it on my r4i now and start listening to it!
